About Us

Garden Club of Lighthouse Point began in 1958 and was Federated in 1959. We are members of National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC), Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) District XI (comprised of all garden clubs in Broward County).
Visit the About Us tab for information on leadership, membership and scholarship.
At our monthly meetings, we host programs on all aspects of gardening, how to plant, where to plant, and what to plant!! If you are new to South Florida, join us and learn what to plant by your pool. Are you devotees of roses or orchids? Desert gardeners, water gardeners — or both? What plants are good for shade? What plants are good in the sun? Have fun and learn all of it with us.
If you wish to expand your knowledge, members may attend educational programs offered through National Garden Clubs (NGC) in four areas: Environmental, Gardening, Landscape Design, and Flower Show School.
The club is active in projects around the area, and we fund a scholarship for students pursuing environmental studies at a Florida university.
Please visit our calendar to visit a meeting and learn more about membership — the responsibilities and the fun. Events is special or ticketed events.
Mission Statement
To further the education of the members and the public in the fields of gardening, horticulture, botany, floral design, landscape design, environmental awareness through the conservation of natural resources, civic beautification, nature studies, and to instill in our youth the love of gardening and the respect and protection of the environment.
