Projects

Projects involve the participation of the members to benefit the community and further National Garden Club goals and objectives.

Civic and Environmental Development (CP1)
Goal: Benefit the public with garden club activities.

  • Members uphold club conservation pledge

  • Plant a tree for Arbor Day

  • Monthly meeting topics, inviting the public to come

  • Promote members National Wildlife Certification

  • Promote FFGC bees, butterfly certification

  • Certify members gardens as pollinator friendly in accordance with FFGC

Donations/Contributions (CP2)
Goal: to support NGC, FFGC and GCLHP projects.

  • Annual salad lunch fundraiser

  • Ways and Means fundraisers at meetings

  • Monetary contributions for Wekiva Youth Camp, S.E.E.K., Garden Therapy, Nature

  • Conservancy, Plant-A-Tree and World Gardening/Natural Disaster

  • Collect and distribute items to local charities

  • Kim Izzi’s Scholarship

Membership (CP3)
Goal: to promote GCLHP and increase membership

  • Increase awareness of club on social media

  • Use club business cards and QR codes to increase public awareness

  • Publicize events online

  • Personal invitation by club members

  • Recognition of club members for outstanding service contributions to club

Horticulture Education (CP4)
Goal: increase knowledge in gardening and plants.

  • Horticulture chairman to provide information at monthly meetings

  • Members will trade-a -plant

  • Hospitality to provide and describe monthly floral display

  • Field trips

  • Monthly meeting speakers and topics

  • Information shared by social media and GCLHP website

Floral Design (CP5)
Goal
: Provide NGC Flower Show School Education.

  • Hold Fun with flowers and Florida Design Study Series classes.

  • Contribute to Local Flower Shows.

  • Enrich Designers with outside speakers

Involvement in Federation Projects (CP6)
Goal
: to participate and be involved in furthering state and national goals.

  • Attendance at FFGC convention

  • Attendance at District meetings

  • Attend Tropical short courses, NGC schools

  • Attend Flower Show Symposiums

  • Submissions for FFGC, Deep South Garden Clubs and NGC awards
